About

VISC

Visually Impaired Social Club (VISC) is a social group for anyone who is blind/visually impaired or normally sighted who live in or around Leeds in West Yorkshire, England.

The group normally meets at least twice per month and organises a wide range of activities and outings throughout the year. Originally created as a self-funded group in 1978, VISC is still the only place for visually impaired people to socialise and educate themselves within the West Yorkshire area.

Despite no help from the governmental organisations, 35 members remain solid in this unique group and new ones are joining in. There are some deaf-blind services coordinators,to assist people with greater difficulties, who can often find themselves more isolated than others.
